Join us in this multipart discussion about Jesus Christ. We use the book “Jesus of Nazareth” written by the Pope as our foundation.

The Gospel of the Kingdom from chapter 3 of the book “Jesus of Nazareth”. The Kingdom of God is a theme that runs through the whole of Jesus’ teachings. We can therefor understand it only in light of that teachings as a whole.

Regarding the brief debate on Matthew 13:44Open Link in New Window. The fact that the treasure hunter went and bought the same field where he found and buried the treasue tells us that this field was owned by someone else. The original owner of the field, therefore should also be considered the original owner of the treasure. If the treasure hunter who found and hid the treasure would have just taken it without buying that field he would have been committing an act of thievery. I think it is interesting that the treasure hunter was willing to risk losing the treasure because it is possible that the owner of the field, or maybe even a dishonest person, would have found the hidden treasure before he had a chance to buy the field; also, there could have been a chance that the field’s owner would not have been willing to sell the land. Hmmmmm?
